Theodore Davis New York Mills Theodore E. Davis, 82, a longtime New York Mills resident died on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare. He was born in Utica on October 8, 1927 the son of Brayton and Rose Laufer Davis and attended UFA. Ted served proudly with the US Navy during WW II. On April 26, 1947 he married Jessie Kurdziolek in Holy Trinity Church, Utica. She died on August 20, 1986. He was employed with the Kelsey Hayes Co. for 37 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart / St. Mary's, New York Mills, the New Hartford American Legion Post # 1376 and a former member of the New Hartford Fire Dept., the New York National Guard and the Merchant Marines. His survivors include his two granddaughters and their spouses, Candace and Timothy Cornish of New York Mills and Kristin and Pvt. Justin Jonquil of New York Mills; a grandson and his wife Michael and Jennifer Downs of New York Mills; nine great grandchildren, Steven Hendricks, Matthew, Isabella and Joseph Cornish, Rachel and Michaela Downs and Alyssa, Anthony and Michael Jonquil. He was pre-deceased by his brother Robert Charles Davis and his son-in-law Ernest Downs and his daughter Mariann Downs. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service which will be held on Tuesday at 6pm at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home 284 Main Street New York Mills. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4pm until the time of the service. Entombment with Military honors will take place at the Resurrection Chapel of Holy Trinity Cemetery.
