Thaddeus J. (Ted) Belch New Hartford Thaddeus Belch 92, died on Friday October 31, 2008, at the St. Lukes Home. He was born in Springfield, MA on March 5, 1916 the son of Walter and Ameila Jacek Belch. As a child he came to the Utica area with his family and attended local schools. Ted was married to Stella Ziajka on November 4, 1942 in Holy Trinity Church, a blessed union for over 66 years. Three days after their marriage, Ted left to serve his country with the US Army in WWII. When He returned home, Ted went to work in the Knitting Mills of New York Mills and later worked for Dunlop as a machinist from where he retired in 1983. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church. His survivors include his beloved wife Stella Belch of Utica, a daughter, Theodora (Teddie) Schafer of Whitesboro; a grandson Michael Schafer of Oneida Lake, NY; a granddaughter, Holly and her husband Johnathan Pawlika of Oneida, NY; two great-grandchildren, Jake and Lauren Pawlika. He was predeceased by three sisters, Victoria Penar, Adele Pietruch and Anna Los; two brothers, Frank and Mathew Belch. He was also predeceased by a son-in-law, Paul Schafer. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial with Military honors will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Thaddeuss family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the St. Lukes Home, Barton East for the excellent care and compassion he received. In Thaddeuss name, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Memorial Fund, 1206 Lincoln Avenue, Utica, NY 13502.
