Stanley W. Jadwizyc

March 8, 1929 - February 7, 2021

UTICA - Stanley W. Jadwizyc, 91, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2021 at Brookdale Clinton Memory Care with the love of his family in his heart. Born in Deerfield on March 8th 1929, Stanley was the son of John C. and Nellie Jadwizyc. He attended local schools and on September 5, 1953, married the late Maryanna Bogdan at Holy Trinity Church, Utica, they shared a blessed union of 66 years. Stanley entered the U.S. Army on September 23, 1946, proudly serving his country and received a Victory Medal during this time. He was employed as the Assistant Fire Chief at Griffiss Air Force Base until his retirement. Stanley was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. An avid hunter, he could be found in the woods hunting deer every season. Stanley could build anything and was known as the family fixer-upper, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. His favorite hobby was landscaping and spending time outside. Stanley enjoyed many summers with the family at Hinckley Lake. He was extremely proud of his Polish heritage. Stanley is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ronald Blatt, Deerfield, son, Daniel Jadwizyc, Oneida; grandchildren, Sherry (Greg) Friley, Michele Blatt and Kevin (Amy) Blatt; one great-grandson, Andrew Moore; and a great-granddaughter Rowan. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 11:00-12:00 noon at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors 470 French Rd., Utica. Funeral services will commence at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Private interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Stanley’s name may be made to the American Heart Association and the Arc of Madison-Cortland. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
