Peter D. Tarnowski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Peter Tarnowski Racine, WI Peter D. Tarnowski, 45, formerly of Utica and currently of Racine, WI died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Poland, Europe on July 5, 1962 the son of Anthony and Maria Chwastek Tarnowski and came to the US as a child. He was united in marriage to Nancy Spring on June 26, 1991 in Rapid City, SD. He attended Holy Trinity Grammar School and graduated from UFA in 1981. Peter served proudly with the US Air Force from 1983 until 1991. Prior to moving to Racine, he managed Kays Jewelry Store in Munice, ID. He was a chef at the Great Lakes Naval Base and currently employed with the Lincoln Lutheran Healthcare Facility at Bay Point in Racine. Peter had a great appreciation for nature: he was an avid jogger and running gave him peace. He loved animals, especially his cats, Kody, Hobi, and Stu, above all he cherished time spent with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. His survivors include, his former wife, Nancy Spring of Racine, WI, his parents Anthony and Maria Tarnowski of Utica; a brother, Roman Tarnowski of Waterford, NY and a sister Elizabeth Kolano of Marcy and special friends Tom and Linda Elias. Also included are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30am at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home 1156 Lincoln Avenue, Utica and at 10am at Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call today from 5 until 8pm. Burial with full military honors will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
