Mary B. Yahnke passed away peacefully on January 29, 2022, with the love of her family, friends, and ESH caregivers in her heart. Mary was born on May 6, 1939, in Utica, NY to the late Francis and Anna (Powers) Butler. On June 4, 1959, she was united in marriage with Corlis R. Yahnke (Ray), a union filled with love and respect, until his untimely passing on December 23, 1991. Mary held many jobs throughout her life but loved the many years she spent as the Director of the Inlet Area Chamber of Commerce best. Her love and dedication to the town shown throughout her career. It could be seen especially during the Annual 4th of July Ping-Pong Ball Drop and the Annual KenDucky Derby (her personal creation) events. Mary was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary in both New Hartford and Inlet as well as an active member of the New Hartford, Eagle Bay, and Inlet Fire Dept. auxiliaries over her lifetime. Mary is survived by her children, Anne Campbell, Mark and his wife, Penny Yahnke and Joseph Yahnke. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Joshua (Yolanda), Allie, Cory (Brittany), and Aidan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her sister-in-law, Dorothy Yahnke. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her nephew, Rick and his wife, Kathy for all the love and dedication they always showed our mother. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her much-loved in-laws, Al and Marge Yahnke, her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Virginia Butler, her sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Betty Maloney, and brother-in-law, Dick Yahnke. Mary’s graveside services will be held in the spring of 2022 at Riverside Cemetery in Old Forge at the convenience of her family.
