Louis Zalewski New Hartford/Virginia Louis Zalewski, 80, of New Hartford died on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Potomac Hospital, Woodbridge, VA. He was born in Utica on September 1, 1927 the son of Josef and Genoefa Zalewski and attended local schools. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps. during WW II. On May 2, 1957 he married Virginia Szpunar in Holy Trinity Church, Utica. She died on April 4, 1995. Louis was employed with the General Electric co. for many years until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church. His survivors include his two daughters and their spouses, Mary Ann and Michael Michniak of Woodbridge, VA and Margaret and Michael Mason of Warrenton, VA; two sons and their wives, Thaddeus and Vera Zalewski of Haymarket, VA and Joseph and Tammy Zalewski of Pleasanton, CA. Also included are several grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Josephine and a brother Edward Zalewski. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Church. There are no calling hours. Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Stanislaus & Casimer Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Holy Trinity Church 1206 Lincoln Avenue, Utica NY 13502.
