Loretta J. Leogrande

May 13, 1935 - March 8, 2022

Loretta (Cielosczyk) Leogrande, 86, joined her husband and daughter in the arms of the Lord on March 8, 2022. A graduate of Utica schools, she married her high school sweetheart, John, in 1954. He passed away in 2014, shortly after they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. A beautiful, elegant, and ever-generous woman, Loretta modeled for Clairol in her younger years. She went on to be the bookkeeper for the family businesses, L Truck Stop and Vista Lanes. While she had many talents, taking care of her family was always her first concern and her favorite moniker, above all, was “Grammie.” Loretta is survived by her loving son, Mark; daughter-in-law, Christine; grandson, Christian and his wife, Victoria; and grandson, Jordan. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Gary Cielosczyk and his wife, Wendy; and their children and families: Kathryn, Nando, Aiden and Ava Vecchio; Matthew, Caitlin, Olivia and Ethan Cielosczyk. She leaves many loving friends and their families, including Sue and Ron Miller, Cathy Newell and Rick Walters, Cindy and Kevin Kutas. She leaves godsons, Craig George, John Constantine and Jeff Jiampietro and their families. In addition to her beloved husband, John, and daughter, Kim, she was predeceased by her parents and many close friends, including Connie and Joe George, Mary Ann and Neno Constantine, and Clara and Chops Burline. The family would like to thank everyone at St. Luke’s Home and Hospital for their kindness and outstanding care, especially Dr. John Pylman and staff of Clark North and Barton East. The family will celebrate Loretta’s life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, at 10 a.m. on March 14 at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Burrstone Rd. There are no calling hours. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to MVHS Rehabilitation & Nursing Center (www.mvhealthsystem.org/donate). Arrangements are under the direction of McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica.
