John Ossowski Utica John Ossowski, 83, of Utica died on Friday, June 13, 2008 at Faxton - St. Lukes Healthcare. He was born in Garkowo, Poland on November 24, 1924 the son of Stanislaus and Sophia Nowicki Ossowski. He was married to Joanna Kaczmarczyk in Germany on November 19, 1949; a loving union of 59 years. They came to the US together in 1950. John was employed with the Bossert Manufacturing Co. and then was the Sexton of Holy Trinity Church in Utica until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church. John will be remembered as a devout family man who enjoyed gardening and growing his beautiful flowers. His survivors include his beloved wife Joanna Ossowski of Utica; two sons, John Ossowski of Utica and Stanley and his wife Diane Ossowski of Whitesboro; six grandchildren, JoAnn and her husband Joseph Shuping of NC, Stacy Ossowski and her fianc Jack Cichocki of Vernon, Candice Ossowski of Whitesboro, John D, Ossowski of OR, Matthew and his wife Cassandra Ossowski of Utica and Stephanie Ossowski of Utica; two great grandchildren, Aurora and Arielle; two brothers, Rev. Anthony Osowski of Cameroon and Roman Osowski of Poland and a sister Genevieve Zamkowski of Poland. Also included are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30am at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home 1156 Lincoln Avenue, Utica and at 10am at Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 5 until 8pm. Entombment will take place in the Resurrection Chapel of Holy Trinity Cemetery.
