Evelyn D. Van Nederynen

February 26, 1933 - February 9, 2022

Evelyn Doris (Hilligrass) Van Nederynen, 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Abraham House. Born on February 26, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Manford and Lela (Alden) Helligrass. Evelyn lived a full life, with many business endeavors including an antique shop, a gift shop, and in later years, assisting families by organizing estate sales. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Tim,) LaGrow, Garry (Kathy) Van Nederynen, and Nancy (Jack) Henderson; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Edna Alvaro and Matt Hilligras; sister-in-law, Louise Atteridg; and brother-in-law, Albert (Dorothy) Van Nederynen. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Gerrit Van Nederynen; siblings, Edward Hilligrass, Herb Hillicus, Helen Smith, Marion Vail, and Robert Hillicus. Graveside services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Evelyn’s name may be made to Frankfort Hill Historical Society District 10 Schoolhouse or New Harford Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 470 French Rd., Utica.
