Elizabeth "Betty" Pryputniewicz

August 29, 1955 - May 5, 2022

UTICA - Elizabeth “Betty” Pryputniewicz, 66, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Katherine Luther Residential Health Care Center. She was born on August 29, 1955, in Utica, the daughter of Julian V. and Harriet (Rembetski) Pryputniewicz. Betty graduated from UFA in 1973, MVCC with an A.A.S. in Criminal Justice, SUNY at Utica-Rome with a B.S. in Professional Studies, and received a M.S.W. from the University of Texas at Arlington. Betty began her career in social work in the Oneida County Dept. of Social Services. She moved to the Plano, TX area and became a licensed Master Social Worker with recognition as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Betty worked her entire career in her licensed profession for various employers in Texas. She returned to Utica to retire and be closer to family. Betty enjoyed cooking and loved animals. She especially cared for her dogs. She is survived by her brother, John E. (Ann) Pryputniewicz, Long Island; sister, Camille Pryputniewicz, Utica; sister-in-law, Sandra Pryputniewicz, Tennessee; nephews, David M. (Julie) and Craig S. (Kathy) Pryputniewicz, Tennessee; nieces, Dana B. (Dan) Stirk, Washington D.C., Megan L. (Joe) LoRe, Long Island; great-nephews, Caden, Edwin, and Vincent Pryputnewicz, Tennessee; and special friend, Ethel (Kane) Groat, Utica. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Julian V. and Harriet Pryputniewicz and her brother, Julian D. Pryputniewicz. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, May 16th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am, at Holy Trinity Church, Utica. Inurnment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Yorkville. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Betty’s name to Alzheimer’s Association Central New York Chapter. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or at www.alz.org.
