Type Obit Here Edward Gol New Hartford Edward J. Gol, 85, a lifelong area resident died on Friday, April1 10, 2009 at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare. He was born in Utica on January 5, 1924 the son of John and Aniela Slowiak Gol and received his High School Degree from T.R. Proctor High School. He served proudly with the US Army during WW II. Edward was united in marriage to Virginia Wilkins on October 12, 1943 by Rev. Lagoe in St. Patrick's Church, Utica; a loving union shared for 62 years until her death on August 17, 2006. He was employed with the F. X. Matt brewing company as a truck driver for 41 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the Disabled Veterans of America and V.F.W. Post 4612 in Little Falls. His survivors include a daughter, Cindy Marie Dudrak of New Hartford; a beloved grandson, Justin Dudrak and his fiance Elizabeth of Floyd; a great grandson Zeke Edward; a special niece, Patricia and her husband Glen Mundschenk of Whitesboro; his best friend Jack Hensel of Whitesboro and dear friends Dr. Sunday and Maggie Asaju. He was pre-deceased by his 4 brothers, Frank, Stanley, Charles and Chester Gol, his sisters Sophie Inglot, Katherine Molls and Mary Casaletta and his twin siblings Joseph and Mary Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Church, Utica. Those who wish may call one hour prior to the Mass at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 1156 Lincoln Avenue, Utica. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Ed's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. James O'Malley and the nurses and staffs of Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare and Barton North of the St. Luke's Home for the excellent care he received In Edwards's memory, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans 407 East Dominick Street, Rome, NY 13440.
