Christine M. Dziekowicz

NEW HARTFORD- Christine M. Dziekowicz, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare. She was born on December 16, 1952, in Utica, to the late Lawrence and Sophie (Knuter) Scholl. Christine was a graduate of New York Mills High School. On February 21, 1987, she married the love of her life, Walter Anthony Dziekowicz in Holy Trinity Church, a blessed union of 33 years. Christine worked in food service for many years, and most recently she was employed with Symeon’s Greek Restaurant. She is survived by her loving husband, Walt; her daughter, Ashley (Pete) Montalto; granddaughter, Gemma; sisters, Lauren (George) Meehan, and Beverly (Kevin) O’Connor; brother-in-law, Richard (Ellen) Dziekowicz; nieces and nephews, Michael, David, Randy, Kyle, Sarah (Tim), Mary, Kelly, Keith, Eric, Tracey and cousin, Bill (Jamie) Wengert. Christine was predeceased by her cousins, Beth (Peter) Wengert; sister-in-law, Linda Vogel, and in-laws, Walter J. (Adelle) Dziekowicz. Christine was a kind, considerate and generous person who always put the needs of others in front of her own. She was the strength and anchor of her family and was always able to provide a solution to any dilemma. To know her was to love her. Christine loved animals, and she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially watching her granddaughter Gemma dance. Christine will never be forgotten and will always be in the hearts and memories of those who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday 1/25/21 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Christine’s name may be made to Stevens-Swan Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the Mass.
