Charlotte E. Szczygiel

February 24, 1934 - March 18, 2022

UTICA – Charlotte E. Szczygiel, 88, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at MVHS Rehabilitation & Nursing Center with her family by her side. Born on February 24, 1934, Charlotte is the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Woytanowski) Siuta. She was a graduate of Proctor High School. On July 21, 1956, in St. Stanislaus Church, Charlotte married Frank R. Szczygiel, who predeceased her. Charlotte worked various factory jobs including at Chicago Pneumatic prior to retiring. She was a devoted mother and surviving are her children, Joanne Szczygiel, Mary Szczygiel, and Eugene Szczygiel; brother-in-law, Ed Szczygiel; sister-in-law, Patricia Siuta and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte also leaves her close friend, Marlene Tupay. Charlotte is predeceased by her infant daughter and siblings, John (Mary) Siuta, Jack (Liz) Siuta, Leon (Ruth) Siuta, Edward (Stella) Siuta, Sophie (Charles) Borawski, Stanley “Butch” Siuta, Jr., and Gladys Siuta; and sister-in-law, Rose Szczygiel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The family will receive guests following Mass. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
