CLINTON - Carol J. Aldrich, 99, passed away on March 12, 2021, at the Siegenthaler Center with her family by her side. Carol was born on December 26, 1921, in Depauville, NY, the daughter of Rev. Arthur and Ellen (Minard) Darling. She was a graduate of Proctor High School. On March 29, 1941, Carol married Joseph G. Aldrich. They enjoyed a blessed union of over 54 years prior to his passing on December 22, 1995. She was employed at Hemstrought’s Bakery. Carol was a member of the Utica Maennerchor, Ladies Chorus, Chapter A.V. of P.E.O., member of the First Presbyterian Church of Utica, and a volunteer at the gift shop at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Carol is survived by three children, Carol (Robert) Lawless, Remsen, Joseph (Patricia) Aldrich, Virginia and Janet (Donald) Booth of Rome; grandchildren, John (Kathryn) Lawless, Patrick (Emma) Lawless, George (Justina) Goldhof, Stacey Ciesla, Christie Meyer, Joseph (Kelly) Aldrich and Amanda Brando. She also leaves many great-grandchildren who considered her “The Great One.” Carol was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and a special grandson, Robert Michael Lawless. The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.
