Audrey J. Johns

CLINTON - Audrey J. (Marczewski) Johns, 83, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Waterville Residential Care Center with her loving family by her side. Born on July 25, 1938, in Utica, Audrey is the daughter of Leon and Helen (Penc) Marczewski. She attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from St. Francis de Sales. On September 24, 1960, in Holy Trinity Church, Audrey married Robert G. Johns, a union of 57 years prior to his death on October 15, 2017. During the course of her career, Audrey was a secretary with GE, Congressman Sherwood Boehlert’s office, and retired from the Savings Bank of Utica. Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed her position of being the watchful eye over the children and found much joy in watching them grow up. Her hobbies included gardening, ceramics, and macramé. Surviving are her two sons, Michael and his wife, Natalia, North Carolina, Steven and his fiancée, Joannie Grande, Clinton; granddaughter, Lindsay (Erik) Gallagher, Deansboro and grandson, Nicholas, Clinton; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Avery, and Sean; sister, Francine Smith and nephew, Joseph Smith and his partner, Ed Sipel; sister-in-law, Lois Taylor and niece, Sheri Taylor. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday, June 24, 2022, from 4 to 6 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica. Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Audrey’s family is especially grateful to the many who assisted with making her life a bit easier over the past few months.
