Arlene Brindisi Munson, 96, passed away peacefully into the Lord’s arms and was reunited in heaven with her husband, Bob on Christmas evening, December 25, 2020. Arlene was born on January 24, 1924 in Utica, NY to Rocco L. and Mary Corabi Brindisi. She was a graduate of Hamilton Central High School, Hamilton, NY and attended the Utica School of Commerce. On October 27, 1956, she was united in marriage with Robert C. Munson Sr. at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Utica. The two shared a loving and blessed union of 56 years until Bob’s passing on January 7, 2013. At one time, Arlene was employed at Rome Air Depot and Westinghouse Supply Co. She was also employed at Southwick Associate Inc. as Office Manager for 20 years until her retirement. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Arlene will always be remembered for her smart wit, a good card or golf game, her love of Italian cooking, her love of big band music and great singers, family trips to Cape Cod and NY City, get-togethers with her family, cousins & friends and the holidays. She was an avid NY Yankees fan who never missed a game. Arlene is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mariann Fitzgerald Munson of Utica. She is also survived by her sister, Harriet Gilberti of New Hartford; her brothers, Joseph Brindisi of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and Rocco Brindisi of Port Orange, Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins, who Arlene held dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her parents, Rocco L. and Mary Corabi Brindisi; in-laws, Earl and Louise Munson; her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Bruce Witter; brother-in-law, Gerald Gilberti; sisters-in-law Shirley Brindisi and Kathleen Brindisi; nephew, Mark R. Witter and niece, Anne Marie Brindisi. Arlene’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Rev. Joseph Salerno for all his prayers, friendship and support, to Dr. Kevin McCormick and Melinda Vogel of the Masonic Care Community and the entire staff of the Erie Household especially Tracy, Sue and Evelina for the care and compassion given to Arlene during her years at the Masonic Home. Due to COVID restrictions, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date.
